Environmental Management

Management and staff at Sydney Maritime Services place a  high priority on environmental management and compliance.  Our commitment to our environmental policy is reflected in our comprehensive and effective environmental management planning for each works or project.  Included in our services is the development of site specific Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP’s).  A site specific CEMP is developed and customised to address issues highlighted in a site Review of Environmental Factors (REF), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) or a statement of Environmental Effects (SEE) will also address issues raised in our own safety and environmental risk assessment for the works.  Our CEMP’s are developed in consultation with our client and various project stakeholders to address all potential Environmental impacts and risks associated with or arising from the works and outlines how Sydney Maritime Services will mitigate those risks and comply with statutory and ethical requirements.

Sydney Maritime Services can also provide environmental consultation to assist you in producing an REF, EIA or SEE if required.

Sydney Maritime Services have been developing and implementing CEMPs for over five years to the great satisfaction of our clients.  We also develop a CEMP for projects which have no contractual requirement to submit such plans.  On request we can to provide written or verbal references from our clients to attest to the quality of our Environmental Management Plans.

As a Principal  Contractor, Sydney Maritime Services ensures that all Subcontractors operate under an approved Environmental Management System or that they agree to operate under and in compliance with our Environmental Management System.  All Sydney Maritime Services personnel and subcontractors and their workers must attend a site induction undertaken by an approved SMS representative which covers the works Environmental Risks and required mitigation methods and procedures.
